ok so most of you know that i wrecked my zenki a week ago.theres way too much body damage so im not gonna bother with it.ive been looking for a new 240 because i really loved that car.i prefer an s14 with an sr or any other turbo engine, but at the same time after my wreck i dont really want something super fast.so im looking for something clean and still want an sr or any other newer engine because this car has to last me.i found this one on zilvia, and i really like it,but i think hes asking a tad bit too much for a stock zenki, maybe im wrong.i offered 4,but tell me what ya'll think.

http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/...71846

if anyone else is selling a 240 or fd for under 10k let me know.manual is a must.thanks

I found my 2nd 240sx S14 on Craigslist and it was local. It did take me two months of waiting and searching to find it. I don't know if you have a timeline to find another car, but it might be worth the wait. If you find a 240sx on Craigslist, it will most likely be a stock version. The guy I bought my 95' from had no idea that the car had any "collectible" value. It was his daughters car that she used while she was in College. They originally bought the car from another guy who lived down the street from them so they knew what they were buying. The car has a perfect interior! I of course rolled up in my Kouki which threw him a little off-guard. He of course asked me why I wanted another 240sx and I told him that the first one had been a very good car and I was telling the truth! I got an incredible deal on the car! He had it listed at 3800 and he took my offer of 2400. I asked him after he signed the title over to me if he had any more offers on the car besides mine and he only had one other offer of 2k.

Try it out if you have time to kill. Hope you find a replacement soon!

well i paid 3500 for an automatic non se so compared to that 4k sounds good for a clean bodied SEand having that 5k left over would be nice but unless you do the swap yourself most if not all that 5 k would be spent on the sr swap

well if you like the car and can do the swap with out paying for labor i say do it!the 2 ka motors and partout of your last 240 can get you alot of money towards your next car. and after the car and the swap you should have a little bit of money to play around with

I think 4k is keeping it in the park. Anything over that price is too much. The car is very clean, but you never know what's going on under that hood. Remember that this car has over 160k miles on it! You might want to see if the car has had a new timing chain installed and ask for receipts! Starters and Alternators are known to go bad in Nissans quite often as well. The timing chain guides are made of plastic and with the age of these cars, you should be up for a new one soon if it hasn't already been done. If you get a mechanic to do it, that will cost you somewhere around $1500. You should ALWAYS test drive a car before you buy it! You can inspect everything and listen for noises and feel vibrations.

If he has kept good records (i.e. receipts, maintenance) and you don't find anything wrong with the car AFTER inspecting it then your offer at 4000 should be sufficient. I wouldn't go any higher than that. That is my opinion, which is what you were seeking from the people who contribute to this thread.

Amtk240 is right. try to see it in person and drive it before you buy.also make sure you haggle and bring the price down on everysingle flaw you find to try to get the best price.

yea ive read up on the timing chain issues, the one in my current ka rattles pretty bad.i know the car has 165k miles but my 240 came with 183k and i know it wasnt treated to well and i didnt baby it by any means.im taking any car i look at to a mechanic and of course im going to test drive it.when i saw 6500 i was expecting ka-t or something, but i could get a clean kouki for that kind of money.we'll see what he says.i offered 4k because kbb said 3200 and nada said 4100 and the car has a problem but he also has SOME suspension done and 300zx callipers on it.i really like this car,i havent come across any really clean zenkis like this that are somewhat close to me so i dont want to miss out on any kind of opportunity.thanks for all the input btw,i just wanted to be back up on 4k being a good offer

I think $4K would be a great deal. I mean a great, kick a$$, I'll drive down and get it, deal. $5100 is about right. You could do worse. Just make sure everything works.

well i love the car,and were gonna drive to see it this week and hopefully buy it.the ONLY problem it has is when your cruising it jerks like its missing a spark but if you give it gas it stops.mine did something similar and it turned out there were 2 breaks in the harness.he said he thought it could be the distibutor but put a good one on and it didnt fix it and he looked at some of the harness and couldnt find anything wrong,so im gonna follow it back to the ecu and hopefully find the problem.its throwing code 21.anyone know what might fix it?
