Remove the oil fill cap and look inside the valve cover with a flashlight. Are the internals clean or black with residue (from too few oil changes)? Is the car detailed inside and out and presentable for sale or is there trash on the floorboards and in the storage compartments? Is the engine clean? Does the owner have organized service records for the fluid changes and other maintenance? These things say a lot about how well your car was or wasn't taken care of by the previous owner.
look at trans fluid & if brown then no good, check oil, see if car is presentable inside & out, clean engine, organized records, got it! thanks for these tips man. im writing it down so i have a check list when i check out a Q!
