Alright guys, I'm going to apologize in advance because i'm sure i'll get yelled at, even though i searched pretty thoroughly.

I have a 96 SE and am looking for a set of new rims. I am planning on doing the 300zx brake swap and going with tein coilovers (either type flex with edfc or type HA). The car will be daily driven with auto crossing as often as i can fit it in (maybe one event every few months). I am also doing an RB swap in the summer so i will eventually need some meaty tires for traction. However, the swap is taking a big bite out of my budget, so i need to find relatively cheap (~1000) wheel/tires. Ok now that thats out of the way, on to my questions...

1) I may purchase a set of Advan VS5 17x7.5+28mm fronts and 17x9 +38mm rear for 900 bucks. I LOVE THESE RIMS!!I have a set of 4 225/45/17's sitting in the garage courtesy of a friend. Will these tires fit onto those wheels or am i going to have to dig out the cash for a set of 255/40's?

2)If the above is not a viable option, i may go with one of two ADR wheels, the Kansai, 17x8 +35mm all the way around,or the M-Classic which is available in a 17x8.5 +15 or +40...will the +15mm offset fit?

3)Are there any other rims ya'll can think of within my budget in the proper fitments? I am partial to 5 spoke or mesh wheels, but i know beggars cant be choosers....sigh i need another job =P

The VS-5's are really nice looking but i have never been able to find any weights or specs on them. $900 is fairly cheap and if they are decent I'd definately go for it. As far as the tires go, use the 225's up front and try and get the same kind of tires in some 255's for the rear that way you only have to buy 2 tires and you'd have some spares for the front lying around.

This weekend I saw a 215 tire stretched over a 9 inch wide wheel. But it looked rather funny to me. From my experience, go with the wheels you want most. Save for a set of 2 tires. Are the tires you have new? Maybe sell 2 or even all 4 and get some tires that match the wheel size better. Just some options. The Yoko ES100's are very reasonably priced. Not as good as the A520 in grip from what I hear, but the noise is much better from what I read, and treadwear rating is much higher than the A520's.
