I just bought an s14 with nismo lmgt4's. The wheels are the silver color in the rear, and bronze in the front. I just wanted to ask the community if they thought matching the rears to the front in color would destroy the value of the wheel? Im going to have the 2 rear wheels professionally finished, not a diy job. Another thing is on the bronze lmgt4 wheel the lip is polished gold, where the center is a textured satin finish. Im not sure the finish on the front would be easily replicated. Im also painting the car white and thought about having the wheels finished in white to match the car. I guess what Im asking is, would re-finishing the rears, or all four kill the value? The two tone does not really bother me so much, I just don't want to sell the wheels down the road and discover that I killed the value of them. Thanks

Why do I need pics? Im simply asking if refinishing lmgt4's would ruin there value.

I'd leave them. I love mismatched wheels like that.

Here are the pics I promised. My kouki skirts should be here any day now. Im going to order the front lip for the jdm bumper, and paint the car white. I just bought this car from nu_born last week. I have since cleaned it out and attached the front bumper on the right side. I have not had a chance to do quite a few things that need finished up. Im currently looking for the rest of the interior plastics for the rear. Mechanically the car is perfect.

Mmm... that's gonna be sweet when you get the paint done. Yeah, I'd leave the wheels as they are but maybe throw some spacers on. It'll look very personalized and charismatic, IMO...

Im going to paint the car white most likely. The car was originally a zenkie and the previous owner did the conversion.

^ How much for the jdm lip?

Dude get the wheels done. It will look really nice and if done professionally won't hurt the value.

It does match in a weird way. Im going to have the wheels done in white or takata green, since Im painting the car white. I have always liked white cars with white wheels, or takata green. Im probably going to contact makin industries and see if they will coat them.

^ Im just worried about the powder coating process weakening the wheels and causing a fracture. I have tried doing research on the subject but come up with many conflicting results. I can see how heating the wheel to rapidly would cause them to become weak. I also don't know what temperature the wheels are forged at to begin with.

Powerder coating should not effect them. Talk to the manufacturer possibly and see what they say. But you should be fine.

You might be overthinking this just a little. Just find a reputable shop near you to get them powdercoated. I dont think they can screw up the overall construction of the wheel by simply powdercoating them (Lets hope not at least) I really dig the idea of a white body with takata green lm's. I hate you just a little for having those wheels by the way :dblthumb:
