Opiions on rebuild or not

my ka24de threw a rod on the number 3 cylinder and pretty sure it damaged my head, question is should I or how feasible is it to rebuild a high millage engine out of the junk yard(since thats all I can find) I was going to replace the rings,main and rod bearings, timing chains/tensioner, or should I try to find a low mileage 01 engine to put in my 96, which I don't know what conversions have to be made but can be done, this is a altima by the way
