Has anyone opened the hardtop using the door request switch? According to the manual you can, but I was unable to. Here is what the manual says:

“Opening The Hardtop Using the Door Handle Request Switches Press and hold either the driver’s or passenger’s side door Request Switch until the hardtop is open completely. This operation cannot close the hardtop.
Note: Requires the Intelligent Key to be on “your person,” within the operating range for the lock/unlock operation to function.”

On my 2010 model. If I hold the black button on the outside of the drivers door the top will Start going down. You do not want to do this too many times without having the car running because it will drain the battery p. Sometimes taking the top down 2 times without the car running will drain the car enough to to keep it from starting.

I don't know if the 2009 models can do this. Go give it a try. Just not more than once

I have a 2010, I tried it with the car running, it did not work. I will try again and see.

Welcome

Is the separator plate in place?

How many beeps do you hear when you press the button.

Opening the roof with the drivers' request switch is indeed possible if you meet all of the pre conditions.

ALWAYS check the truck before opening the top.

I do it occasionally when I want to watch the roof do its thing, or showing it off to someone who hasn't seen it in action. But 9 times out of 10 I do it inside after the car is already on. Never had a battery issue.
