Bunch of guys run it like this just fine. First ones that come to mind are the IAP kit guys.

If it's too loud for you, just add a mini muffler (like one from a lawn mower or something) or run the dump tube longer - should even out the sound.

"Too Loud" is a relative term, so there's really only 1 way to find out

the only car i've ridden in with an open dump was a 400hp RB20 swap. It was loud, but not unbearable. Plus it sounds mean as hell and scares people, so it's got good psychological value too. I'd do it. its only loud at WOT anyways

i have open dump tial WG and it is awsome. It does scare the **** outta people when you fly by them. i am running 15psi and the WG is the loudest thing i can hear when in full boost but when not in boost it is quiet. i dont have any muffler or even a pipe comming off the WG it just dumps all over my engine bay which sucks and i will fix soon.

Mine has been open dumped for 3 years in many different configurations. I will never EVER run it back into the exhaust. It only opens when you hit full boost, and if you are hitting full boost in an area where you are worried about noise then you shouldn't be hitting full boost.

If you run a bigger turbo that takes some time to hit full boost I'd go for it. But if you have a smalll turbo and run low psi it will be open alot of the time.

My GT35R is set to 20psi and takes a bit to get there, so It will not open too easy when im just driving around town. I think im going to murge it back into my exhaust... its pretty loud (46mm gate with a 2" dump tube)

I ran an open dump as well. What I always say to people who ask this is: unless youre boosting like 5 lbs or something, if your wastegate is actually opening on the street, then youre already breaking one or two laws, right? haha

Search for my car pics, I use the BD manifold and just the top part of their downpipe, I hacked the crap out of their downpipe cause it was trash.

You can always run the dump pipe all the way out the back of the car.

I run mine with no dump tube, just open. I don't even notice it really anymore. Besides, if you have a boost control failure, you'll know when there is no "bwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaa,"

Hey Brad, when does your GT35R turbo hit full spool. I have been considering this turbo. I currently have the T3/TO4S turbo from the SR CTC kit. Everything I read about this turbo I'm finding out it makes peaky horsepower. I

I'll throw in my 2 cents for what it's worth.

I ran one for a couple of months. I hated it. Not only was it loud, it sounded like crap. It also smelled bad. I ended up plumbing it back into the exhaust. I noticed no difference in performance.

There was certainly an attention factor, but many thought something was wrong with the car. But it could easily draw the attention of a cop as well as anyone else on the road. Something I definitely did not want.

I will say, it's not entirely difficult to reroute the dumppipe into the exhaust stream later on if you do not like it.
