Open port on side of trans.

I have a 92 ka24de with manual trans. On the side of the trans there is an open port. Its slightly angled and almost looks to be a drain of some sort. It is on the passenger side below the shifter assembly and right next to the trans crossmember. Its about 1-1.5 inches in diameter and is not threaded in anyway. just below this port there is a small screw hole. Does anyone know what this hole is and more importantly what to fill it with? Thanks!

Speed sensor port.On an older transmission it would be the speedo cable port.
