In virtue of the fact that you are going to dismantle the motor of my 300 ZX, (water damage) what modifications or improvments do you recommend? This motor has never been opened or taken apart prior to this occassion.

thanks Gino__________________---1994 300ZX---

Depending on how far, you're digging in, Do as much preventative maintenance as you can possibly do. Measure everything to ensure it is within OEM specs, and replace if worn. Replace all your rings, seals, and everything that you can get your hands on as far as that goes. If anything looks worn out in the engine bay, replace it. It will turn into a headache down the road.

What are your plans for the car? Is it turbo? What's the mileage?

P.S. Post a rebuild thread in the general section cause everyone loves reading them

An EGR delete would be a good idea, especially if you are turbo. Replace the cam seals, the rear and front crank seals, replace the water pump gasket (and the waterpump if there is any play in the shaft at all). Replace the valve cover gaskets, replace the oil pan gasket, the rod bearings, compression rings, the head gasket. If theres is one thing you are going to do for sure it is replace the timing belt.
