How many people are running open BOVs without issue?

I am also running open bov with no problems but i am about to recirc it though.\I have the blow thru maf setup

I only have problems if I try to stop real fast. a simple blip of the throttle solves it though... I got 555cc injectors though. running 15lbs

I don't have the tune tweeked out 100% and I think it's rich to begin with but yah, the car stalls when I boost then coast.

if you have the bov after the maf, it's normal to have those issues.when the bov opens, some of the metered air escapes and never enters the engine and it caused the engine to run really rich for a while and causes stalling problems.

to place the maf after the bov do u have to make any modifications? like to the maf?

I tried open and the car would stall sometimes or idle wonder. A tuner shop told me the problems was because the short maf to turbo pipe. they had to mistune the iac to solve some stallig issues. I even had the safc2 set for dec air; an still it will die sometimes. I got so fed up that I recirculated and closed the system with a dump right before the maf and all those issues went away instantly. And you can still hear the bov wistle 1/2 block away.

basically you would have to run a blow through maf setup, meaning that the turbo sends compressed air through the maf, and, with the bov installed before the maf, if you want to run an open bov without those side effects.

I used to run the draw thru with the open setup, you can help the stalling issues with the SAFC Dec air function, but even after fixing the stalling issues I still had backfire problems that had kids in the neighborhood doing the "duck & cover" routine.
