this might not help at all, but it is worth a shot. my hatch wouldnt open once, so this is what i did. Get some good cable lubricant, and spray it all over the part of the cable that you can see, while lifting the lever up and down. let it sit a while and repeat. then, spray it into the crack of the gas lid, in the area where it hooks. try opening it then. if that doesnt work, have soneone push the level down for you, while you kind of wiggle and push on the lid door. once you do get it open, check out to make sure the spring isnt bent, and lube it well. hope this helps
