Looks like an old school CA16DE or a CA18DE. Excellent engines in N/A form and I've honestly had the pleasures of owning and kicking @$$ with both of them.

Quote »Jesus Dee, how many CAs have you had??[/quote] I've used the CA16DE in my sentra in 1997, changed to the CA18DE later that year (bad engine), got another CA18DE and mated it to CA16DE transmission and boy did that combination work out nicely. Got tired of the 4300rpm at 80mph deal, so I swapped in a CA18DE's transmission and enjoyed the N/A power. Cleaned up the civic si for 1999 and 2000 as well some N/A sentra SE-Rs and others. Swapped in the 1st DET in 1999 and blew it (All 4 pistons) 10 days later racing a mustang (My stupid fault). Rebuilt that CA with new wiseco pistons and new JWT experimental ecu (1st 1.8 litre pulsar programmed ecu) and wacked the engine ( 2 pistons) in less than 1000miles. Next CA with new JWT corrected ecu was wacked at 18psi (All 4 pistons). Rebuilt that engine with used 1st gen CA18DET pistons, kept the boost to 15psi and enjoyed myself. Sold that block and head to a member on our forum who is still using it till this day and built my girl's CA powered sentra.

Now there's (2) CA powered sentras a red one and a silver one. The red one ws retired after racing a friend's 3rd gen RX-7 and smoking him and the silver one was the new fun car. The silver car's CA melted a piston with a JWT ecu whilst racing a ford lightning on the top end. Changed #4 piston, new h/g, old head bolts and blew the new h/g 10 days later because of the stretched headbolts. Put on new h/g and head bolts and engine was good to until I needed a core for my race engine build-up. So I took out a perfectly running engine, tore it down and put in one of my freshly acquired JDM engines. That engine has been through hell which was the one i finally had to tear down. My built enigne is the actual engine out of the old silver sentra that was destroyed while racing a Ferarri.

And that's the story on how many engines I've had. Oh yeah, I just sold my last FWD engine to one of our members here recently and I'm sure he would enjoy the quality and perfromance of it

They were cool though and I knew my stuff was experimental, so i'm not crying about the mishaps. I've learned a great deal about this motor through my hard-earned money, blood, sweat, and tears and I tell you I wouldn't trade the experience for nothing in the world:cool:
