Hey Guys,

For anyone else with an AC (or any car for that matter) in Ontario, this one's for you. I want to install coils, but I know my insurance company won't insure me if I lower my car. I called around, and most won't. Those who will only will if they consider me a high risk driver. So apparently dropping your car puts you in the same category as people with DUIs. The obvious solution is to not tell them. However if you actually need a claim and the adjuster finds out you lied to them, they can deny your claim.

So guys in Ontario, what do you do?

ALSO, how many people do we have here from Canada? Where from?

Get insured, then lower it. Stop calling insurance companies and telling them you want to lower your car.

Seriously lol. Why would you call them to tell them you're lowering your car?

Smh ill never tell my insurance company what I've done to the car. It only sends a huge red flag for them not to even insure you. Just shop around as if your car is stock

Well yeah, like I said, the intuitive thing to do is to just not say anything. Except when the insurance adjuster comes to check out your wrecked car and notices you have lowered it and didn't tell them, they can legally void your policy for non-disclosure of modifications. And don't kid yourself, they go over your car with a fine tooth comb and will try to find a way to not pay out. If you have lowered your car and your insurer doesn't know, there is a good chance your policy is void for anything more than a fender bender.

Not trying to be a d!ck, just a heads up that it might be something to look into.

Experienced & have lowering springs on my car. It depends on the situation. For example, I had 2 insurances one covering my car & the other for aftermarket parts including the suspension. That was thru allstate.
Now with Infinity insurance, I had made a claim & just put back my stock wheels just in case & they didn't even notice anything with my car.

The ideal solution here is ...not wreck your car!

Canada's got some weird laws, man. If that was the case here in the US, we would all be driving with no insurances.

For those of you in Ottawa, let me know if you order any parts. It'd be interesting to see if we could get a discount on shipping if we order in bulk.
