I have a 94 maxima Gxe. The a/c only blows on HIGH, requardless of which mode it's on. (essentially i'm getting all or nothing) It'll come on and show 1,2,and 3 parts of the fan display but it wouldn't blow. Could this be a resistor that's shot. A friend had a '98 taurus that had a similar problem and his was due to a bad resistor. I would like to look into this possible solution. Does anyone know where the appropriate resistor would be located and how to test and replace. As a result the auto climate control feature does the same.

It sounds like the blower resistor. It is located behind the glove box on the bottom of the blower. It should be held in with 2 screws. Nissan suggest replacing the blower and the resistor. They are like 20$ Your part number is 27150-1E405. That is for auto air after to production date of 02-94

If i take off the the glovebox will it be readily accessible or is it down deep? Have you seen this problem first hand or you're making a good guess? should i have a shop diagnose this, better yet can i diagnose it myself (the resistor that is) or do you think that's definately my problem.

Here's a few examples of this happening before

240SX

94 Q45

QX4

M30

Based on that, I don't think he's guessing, but NISITECH will most likely respond as well.

Yes it is easy to get to you shouldn't even have to take the glove box out, If I'm not mistaken it has a green conector, also has 2 screws holding it in, I'm a Nissan Tech in Leesburg Fl.

I'm trying to post a pic of what the resistor nissan sold me and what i actually say when i got under the dash. They're two completely differenc things,,,if i removed the right part that is. THe one nissan sold me is a cube shaped metal part w/ circular holes punched out all the way around except for the base where the connector would plug in. What i removed was located under the right side of the dash behind the glove box. I removed the black rubber sleve, found two screws holding in a metal plate, removed both screws and plate. Then there was a part that was behind the plate, it has a connector going to it. two copper wires lead from connector to two Spring-loaded "whachamacallit's". Is this the resistor??whachamacallit's :Hopefully i get the pic to upload.

ok in the general location of the motor brush should be the resistor. it hangs out of the bottom of the heater case(usually, it might stick out the side) and has a connector with like 4-5 wires. one bolt/screw on either side of the connector. when you pull it out it is like a little circuit board almost.
