I need some firsthand insight as to how handling has changed from KA'd 240 to RB25'd 240. Seems everyone who hasnt driven an RB25 240 will tell you it makes the car handle poorly, but I need to hear from some people who actually own and drive these cars. If you don't own or have driven an RB25DET 240, please don't post. Thanks

i drive my car every day, and it is not noticeable to me. i had the SR before i had the RB, and it didnt even lower the car compared to the lightweight SR.

It handles fine. The weight distribution is not disturbed as much as you would think. There is a nice big 35mph corner by my house that I took at 65 with the RB25DET installed, and stock blown struts. This is on stock size wheels and tires.

with the tein flex coilovers I have taken it at 80+

I think the car handles really well, and you will be stupid happy with the new power. If you want "Ideal" then you should probably go with the SR.

Good luck

Are you talking about the S13, RS13 or S14 ?

I have a RS13 which came with a CA18DET originally. The CA18DET is 20 to 30kgs lighter than the SR20DET. The RB25DETT I fitted makes the car weigh 70kgs more than it used to with the CA (so 40 to 50kgs more than the SR) and it has lowered the car around 20mm at the front. The car just has uprated springs on it.

In real terms there is slightly more understeer but I have driven my RS13 for 8 years so I know the car very well and I don't think anyone else would have noticed to be honest. The car still handles superbly well. :ylsuper

Just got the 25 into the s13 coupe with kyb's and eibachs. Rear stb's, front off. Took a 90* right and powered it out of it. Tires (stock wheels with Khumo's 712) didn't squeel but it did throw me sideways. Big Grin!

Other than that, I haven't pushed it at all and really can't compare since I took the PS out. It feels like a whole 'nother car. haven't taken any high speed cornering to really compare but it's so nice to have power on tap.

We have a RB25 S13 and a CA18DET S13.. driving them back to back, the CA18 turns in better (even though the 25 has all the good bushes etc)The CA feels like a smaller lighter car, but the RB doesn't understeer like everyone says.. infact, on the circuit, it handles VERY well ;)
