So we've had our new 2014 Rogue SV for about 2000 miles and we have to get a whole new front passenger door!

For some reason the techs can't fix an issue where each time we roll down the window a thick streak of grease is left on the glass. I'm happy they are taking care of it, BUT I'm really worried about the color match. Has anyone ever had a panel replaced? How was the color compared to the rest of the car?

Mods...

Is there a way to move this topic to the main "general chat" section on the forums homepage? I'd like to get feed back from any nissan (not just Rogue) owners who had a fender, door, etc. replaced.

Thanks!

It will depend on the skills of the painter guy at the body shop. Usually that's not a problem but also your new door should be covered under the warranty for color mismatch, rust, etc. Why don't you ask your dealer who's going to do the work?

Leo.. Thanks for the reply.

I sent an email to my advisor to double check who will be painting the door. The impression he gave me over the phone was that it was already coming painted from Nissan.

I'm guessing since this Rogue is made in Tennessee I wouldn't doubt that you could be getting one right from the factory. So the paint should be a perfect match.
Don't worry about it until you get it back.

He said the door should be here in 6-7 days so i'll keep you guys posted.

the 2003 350Z had a similar smudge on the power window problem when they were new, but Nissan never replaced the doors back then. Hopefully the factory paint will match up. Good luck.

I'm really really hoping the door matches. The cars has less than 2k miles and I'd hate to have new car and a door that doesn't match.

I hope there's no damage in transit since the door comes painted from nissan.

UPDATE:

So my wife dropped off the Rogue to have the new door installed. About an hour later I get a call from the service advisor saying the new door won't be installed beacuse there is a paint blemish on it.

NOW... they ordered another door and I have to wait another two weeks till it arrives. I'm so fustrated at this point and I plan on speaking to the service manager tomorrow. I would like to be compensated for all the lost time and driving back and forth to the dealer. The car has 2400 miles and has been to the service dept 5 times for a total of 10 days. This is crazy!

That sucks man. Can you ask them to expedite it at their expense? Or to inspect it first before calling you and telling you to come in... or give you a loaner car?
