Recently the lower of the two horn tones started working only sporadically & now it's dead.
This makes the sound less noticeable and bothers me, anyway.

What causes this and what are my DIY repair options?

Loose or corroded connection or damaged wire. Here's videos showing how to access both horns.

Look at the pic of first link and the small screw directly below the nut that attached the wire in dead center of the horn. That nut may be the adjustment nut for the inside diaphragm, it is used to adjust the diaphragm to again make noise. Wear and age can make the setting drift slightly and lots of times just moving the screw a little bit brings the horn back to working. Past that rusted or bad connectors like said. Sometimes you have to break into the case and fix corroded breaker points and commonly fixes things too but the major problem there is once horn is working you have to figure out how to seal the case back up to not leak water.

I used to fix like 7 out of 10 horns, most of the time they can be brought back to life.

Is there ANYTHING on the Rogue that doesn't require disassembly of the front end fascia??
:frown:

Like everything else, this is not a DIY project but a DIO (do it ourselves) project.
It looks like I'll be waiting for a while to fix this.

Well, it turns out I can (kinda) get to the low-note horn through a space by the hood latch.

I have a broken wire at one of the connectors!

Now I wish I had the tiny hands needed to fix this...or tentacles.

Thanks for the help!
