Online Stores for 5sp 2jz motor?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Looking to buy a 5sp 2jz motor, but I dont want to go out and buy it from any shop, I'm looking for a shop with good reviews and good feedback so that I can avoid getting a bad motor. Any suggestions?

I think buying one from a shop will be far more expensive then getting one on EBAY. Are you looking for a local shop or willing to pay a shop to ship you a motor set?

yeh I saw a few on Ebay, but they were automatic, I also saw a bunch online but automatic as well. I would've gone with the 6sp but it's a lil bit too pricey.

That's why I was thinking about getting a shop to ship one to me. Is there a better way to go about getting this motor?

Well if you've looked on Ebay and aren't happy then having a shop ship one to you may be a good way. But I'd do some price comparisons first. A buddy of mine used to work here http://www.sp-power.com/main.htm

You could try a local junkyard, I guess. They should be willing to start the motor for you. Use http://www.car-part.com to find something nearby with a 2JZ in stock.

The only 5sp/2JZ setups I know of are in the SC300 or NA Supra.

Hey guys, thx for the help and advice. That site http://www.car-part.com is really good. I'm still looking around and comparing prices. I'll let you know what I find. Thanks again.

Btw, is the 2jz swap kit from 2jzswap.com worth it? It's kinda pricey, I think it'll be cheaper if I do the research myself and make my own.

also try RNDFactory i got a front clip from them and it was in good shape. 25k miles on the clip. worked with me on the order and some mix-ups through communication, but overall very good.

also try jhot (outfit near atlanta). good stuff and great ppl. i bought a R32 GTS rear diff and axles from them. good condition and fast shipping & service

another option is to buy the auto swaps you see on ebay and then try and source a 5-speed r154 trans (about 350-500). then you would need:1) 1jz bellhousing (ebay, driftmotion or manitechracing) 2) 1jz flywheel (ebay, driftmotion or manictechracing). 3) i'd look into clutch upgrades to hold the power, if that is in your plans. in this case, use a MKIII clutch. horsepowerfreaks has a nice setup for the money and very good in reviews as well. ACT is very nice too, reliable and hold up well too.

you'd be looking for a front sump (if doing this in a s13/s14) swap/clip too (MKIV JDM Aristo, 1jz Soarer, and another i am forgetting). hope some of this helps. i am sure you know most of this, but it didnt appear so in your original thread.

also, check out drag240sx as well. their hybrid forum is very very usefull.
