DISTRIBUTOR firing order for 1999-2002 quest is incorrect

So i'm helping this other guy at a different site & noticed that the Haynes manual, as well as some other sites got the firing order kinda wrong

my guess is that the publishers ASSumed that the distributor from the first generation of nissan quest~mercury villagers were the same for the 2nd generation as well...

Plus, I couldn't find any diagram on the Factory Service Manual nor owner's manual that are available here or other nissan site (as far as the wires to the distributor cap goes)

this is really for the 1st generation 1993-1998 models with the 3.0L engine

so I edited a picture for them

then i went to an infamous yahoo group once again to confirm that the firing order was incorrect for this 2nd generation of the quest ~ villager...

(they were successful in proving that the first 2 generations of this minivan had non-interference engines while every other site says otherwise)



and ran out to take a quick picture with my old cellphone & confirmed it



so one of the popular google search hits also got it wrong & will email him to correct their database

EM-58 of the 1999 FSM lists the firing order.

i saw that, but it doesn't show the distributor cap spark plug wire placement

i already knew it was counter clockwise rotation and the cylinder numbers are the same between the 2 generations... as well as the 1-2-3-4-5-6

what that other member on questdriver.com and i found out that the other sites incorrectly placed the sparkplug wire orientation on the distributor cap... why i highlighted the #1 plug location.

look more closely at the #1 plug location of the 3.0L vs. the 3.3L

now google image search for the 2nd generation quest/villager (or click that link on the 2nd post) to see that they think it's the same orientation

can you find it in the FSM that includes the cap-spark plug wire orientation?
