Hey guys.

I own a '91 240sx. Basically every once in a while the car hasn't been starting - the engine doesn't even try to turn over - and if I give it a minute or two, it will generally start up no problem. I was told this was a relatively common problem with 240s. However, it's been getting worse lately. I was hanging out with my friend tonight and I sat in the car trying to get it to start for several minutes on end, going outside and attempting this every so often. Finally I got it started and I got the car home, and it refuses to start again.

So I think this is a starter issue but I'd like to get some feedback and see if anyone has had similar problems.

Thanks.

I messed around with it for a while and found out that the wiring for at the clutch safety switch was pretty messed up. I put in a connector and it works fine now

In cases like this, you disconnect connector(one wire) that is few feet from starter and test to see if starter is getting 12 volts(from incoming connector to ground equals 12v). if no 12 volts you know it is clutch switch or relay in the line. first thing , of course, is to hit starter to see if that solves problem.
