Hey everyone,Thursday was my one year anniversary with my 91 Q. The only thing that I've done to him (yes it's a guy) is replace a rubber boot, other than that no problems. I've only drive it about 1000 miles since I've had it though. Currently has 231,000 on it. Yeah to infiniti for building a great car! Here's a pic just for veiw

I suspect that the guides have already been replaced if you have 231k on the car. but that doesnt mean you can skip checking to see if theyve been done.

Gorgeous Q!

I'm so happy to see a black one with marvelous paint...

I remember a while back I saw a black one but oh man.. poor thing... the paint was all faded and scratched and rusted and all that other stuff, and the interior was just as bad.

it is possible that the guides have never been changed, even with that many miles. when i had mine changed with just over 100k, the drivers side guide was toast, completely gone! luckily for me the pieces fell harmlessly into the pan and didn't get stuck anywhere. for whatever reason, it's usually the drivers side guide that goes first. if the guide is gone, and didn't get lodged anywhere, the engine will still be ok, but with your mileage there IS slack in the chain and the risk of it jumping is good. as long as you're not sure about the guides, i'd advise against alot of WOT runs. kinda hard advice to follow when you're driving around in a beast like the Q!!!!
