I've now had my 2002 Q45 Premium edition for a year.

The good:Only been in the shop 1 time - I bought the OEM 18" chrome wheels from Joe for $425 (Sweet) was in the shop to put them on.18+ miles per gallon.Very fast.Very smooth.Navigation is great.I love the way it looks.

The bad:Gas light comes on at 1/4 tank (does this not bug anyone else?)Scheduled maintenance reminder comes on while backing up. Your watching the screen for kids on bikes or a parked car behind you and a reminder to change your oil pops up. I hope they fixed this in the '03 model. You can't adjust your side view mirrors in reverse, when you try to they point down. I assume this is for parallel parking. It's an early 02 edition so it does have the lag when you stomp on it at 40mph

I'm getting ready to do the 60,000 mile service in the next couple of weeks, anyone have any suggestions. I do 95% of my own maintenance / repair, I'm thinking have the transmission flushed and do the rest myself.

Have you done the computer reflash for better acceleration?

Mine is an early production model built in '01. The dealer said it could not be flashed. Off the line the car is very fast. It breaks the back tires loose with VDC on, no squeal though. It does hesitate sometimes when you stand on it going 40mph. It's a one or two second delay(it's an eternity when it happens, the first time I thought the car stalled) and when it catches it does snap you back in your seat a little.

One other pet peeve is the shiny black dash driving toward the sun. I think the previous owner used a lot of Armorall but it's been a year. I think I might try Zaino Z-10 to see if it will dull it down some.

Turn your mirror control switch to the middle position. It will not move downward when backing up. The automatic tilt system works for EITHER mirror you have it set to for viewing the curb when backing up. It's a big help to protect expensive wheels and tires if you parallel park and aren't highly skilled at it.

You can adjust where the mirror looks when backing up too. Just put the car in Reverse (Brake on) and adjust it to where you want to see. Then hit the memory switch and the #1 memory button until it goes off. It will remember where you set the mirror when you back up, and will return to the normal position as soon as you take the car out of Reverse. Do this for both mirrors. Then, when you are parking close to a curb, make sure the mirror switch is set to the one you want to look down.

My pre-tensioner airbag light came on. Took it to a Infiniti dealer and it will be repaired free of charge as he said it life-time warrantied item. 2002 Q 45 92,000 miles.

If I saw a child in my backup camera, I'd floor it.

Wait, what?

try to go to INFO then select Maintenance, then you will see how reset to get rid of the Maintenance required on screen.
