Wait, you mentioned yourself not being stupid. That sentence typed correctly would be, well it couldn't be because it is a sentence fragment, but it would be typed correctly: "No, I am not stupid......."

Ok, back to the point, are you looking for the drain for the transmission fluid? Oil pan? Transmission? Auto to manual? You're just skipping all over the place, retype your question to make a little more sense and you might get a sensible response that can help you.

hard to believe, but I actually got what his question was. Yes, there is a possibility that you have to remove the pan to drain the oil, some autos have that. I wouldnt know cause I only drive stick.

Another alternative would be to disconnect the driveshaft, unhook the header from the cat and remove the transmission mount. This way, you can tilt the motor (SLIGHTLY) just enough to drain it from the tail end of the transmission.

Some of the earlier nissan auto trannies (up to 92?) lacked a drain plug on the pan, so your not missing anything obvious or anything like that.

Just pop that pan off, and change the filter while you are at it.

Edit: see that you just want to remove it, dont worry about draining the fluid just pull it.

When you pull the lines off, just stick a pan underneath to catch as much oil as possible. Stick plugs or rags over the holes as you remove the transmission/engine. Once everything is unbolted and ready to come out, only takes a few minutes to have it out and on the floor, dont think about it so much.
