Thats it. That is all that is standing between me and a fully prepped for wiring SR20DET 240SX. I busted my a$$ yesterday and today and got a LOT of stuff done.

Anyway, I got all the vaccum lines connected, with the help of heavythrottle.com, but there is still one vaccum line unaccounted for. As I already know, the wastegate gets its signal from the intake side of the turbo. I've heard that it is ideal to get it as close to the turbo as possible, but on the compressed side, not the intake side. I am using the stock intake tubing and there is a little hole in the tube that looks like it is for vaccum of some sort (no not the big hole for the recirc valve). My question: Is it going to work if I connect that vaccum hose from the intake tubing that is BEFORE the turbo to the wastegate or do I need to have a nipple put on my hotpipe to hook up to the wastegate? If I need a nipple on the hotpipe, what does the hole on the intake tube for? And do I need to cap it?

The wastegate needs to get its signal from any vacuum source after the turbine. I prefer to have mine directly from the intake, this will account for any intercooler pressure drops. Your turbo will be working slightly harder, but you'll know exactly how much boost your ingesting.

If the vacuum source isn't needed you can simply cap it off. But make sure it isn't required first. My Skyline had tons of caps and plugs.

Hope that helped...happy boosting.

OK, you said after the turbine, so I will need to have a nipple welded onto my hotpipe for the wastegate signal? If that is the case the nipple on my intake piping won't be needed. I wonder what it was for.

EDIT: WD, thanks for your help in the "other" area too ;) I'll let you know when I make my decision.

What are you referring to as your hot pipe?? If by hot pipe you mean any portion of the intake piping after the turbo, then yes, that is where the wastgate should hook up to. As far as having to weld a vac port on anywhere, you can just use a boost T-fitting off any other vac source on the intake.

As far as I know there are four holes on the stock intake tube. The two obvious ones are the intake from the cone filter and the exit into the compressor. The other two are the hole for the stock recirculating valve (near the filter, which I cap off with a bottlecap and tape when using a BOV) and the hole near the compressor from the carbon canister. My wastegate vacuum tube runs from the intake after the SMIC.

Other hole is for the surge valve I think...the line that comes from the valve thing on the valve cover to that hole, if not, I have no clue besides recirculation :thinker

ahh, yeah forgot about the carbon canister too (cap off if you dont use it).
