Went to figure out whats wrong with my car, IAM GETTIGN FIRE EVERYWHERE!!! Then looking at the book, my girls dad came by to look at it, we pulled the valve cover, the piston is at TDC but the cam is slightly off, by 1 tooth(link). Could that be the reason it will not fire?

It is making compression at all the pistons, so Iam guessing thats a sign of no bent valves!!!

Nope, I dont think so.... I went from a 240/248 s13 cam setup to a 248/232 hybrid of sorts. Without repinning you must rotate the exhaust (248) 4 teeth so that It can be used on the intake side.

Well it was late and my best friend wasnt counting to well, or something, and moved it 3 teeth, or 1 tooth back cw. The car still ran, but sounded like a hot cam'd big block at idle. I even gave it about 6 runs WOT to the top of second. It pulled very nice though... Just having the engine rock 1.5 - 2 inches each side wasnt too appealing to me... I corrected the mistake (luckilly I wanted to dbl check everything and realign my marks) and tyhe 248-232 purred.

Then again it was on my 96 (dont know if yours is sohc or dohc) and only the intake was off by tooth too far left, cw. I didnt try it 1 tooth ccw or either way on the exhast side.... sorry :)

Its super easy to fix, and should be fixed anyway if it is off.

Since you need to anyway, give it a whirl.

If you took the distributor out you probably set it 180 degrees off.
