So I redid my timing belt and the car runs great now. So yesterday, I get in the car to start driving it, and I go no more than 20 ft and my tachometer starts bouncing around a little bit. Like, it would be at 2000rpms then just jump up to 2500 for a split second. Only thing I did was turn the CAS to set the timing. WTF? Did I break the damn CAS now???

Hey c rad mine has done that before and I did change out the cas and everything was fixed. After looking at the old cas that was in my car the little tooth thing that connect to the exhuast cam was BENT. Just by turning it with my hand I could tell it was bad. good luck

I don't know if this helps, but I used a CAS off a VG30DETT fit the same and ran the same.

Yeah, only way I would buy one is if it were $20 shipped or less. Otherwise I will just wait til the junkyard gets a J30/300Z in. They only charged me $3.99 for the last one I got.

I may have jumped the gun. I think two of the bolts holding it in were loose. I'll have an update in a little bit.

Speaking of jumping the gun, did you get that pre-mature ejaculation problem taken care of?

JK! I haven't talked to you in forever, so I though I'd give you some crap instead.

LOL, you're the one who disappeared from AIM! And hey, I'm never premature... when it's time, it's time.

As for my CAS, I went out and messed with it and I am still getting the same symptoms. Once it gets to about 2500 rpms, it just starts moving around and stuff. Just to make sure, this IS a clear sign the CAS is jacked up, right? Also, when I was attempting to set the timing, it was ALL over the place. Going from 0* to 20*. I couldn't get it to stay put. I put my friend in charge of putting it back on when we did the timing belt, and I think something might have happened to it. I am going to try one from an RB25 tomorrow though. Anyway this could be related to the igniter? Or is this clearly a CAS issue?

Problem solved! Although now I have a spare CAS to hang on to Turns out I am an idiot (hmm, my girlfriend was right). It was actually the ignitor that was causing the problem. Good thing I had a slew of them in a box.

Congrats Chris. I'm glad you got it figured out. I'm not on AIM anymore because my PC toasted itself and I haven't bought a new MB, Proccessor, power supply, and ethernet card, to fix it.
