this swap make anyone else want to cry sometimes??

most recent discovery. RB20 mounts dont mix well with RB25's...

missing gaskets, missing harnesses, missing everything and anything possible. the stress is wearing me out. im not even doing the swap, but holy crap, i think ive called every state searching for parts. scoured every internet site looking for parts. im so freaking close, but something new pops up almost daily..

anyhow, just wondering if i am alone on this. its becomming pure comedy to myself and my buddies. thankfully, mckinney is going to trade me mounts, and im trying to figure out which driveshaft i have/need. i just keep going. it cant last forever.

Dont loose hope man.. I guarantee most people on this site have hit really dumb problems such as these.. Myself included. I got a clip with a hacked up ignition harness! grounded signal wires blew up a couple coil packs. SWITCHED signal wires, and on top of this there was 3 bad coil packs.. I ordered some from venus that actually turned out to be bad too.. and a couple broken injector clips.

Bottom line, if you let it get you down, and never finish.. You'll never have the unexplainable happiness you get when you finally get it to fire smoothly, or drive it with 100% power. Just wait until all your work pays off, its worth it I swear!

sent the pictures to mckinney. aparently they are 26 mounts. therefore, the trans mount fits, and im assuming the driveshaft is correct as well. they're going to 3 day the new mounts to me. so hopefully no later than thursday they can once again, attempt to drop the motor in. im just glad it was this easy to correct.

dont get me wrong, i realize now why there are so few of these cars around with this swap. i think mine will be the 2nd or 3rd in michigan currently. there have been a few in the past, but i have no idea what happened to them. anyhow, i just consider crap like this little stepping stones. i wish it was less stressful and i wish i had all the correct pieces to begin with. ive had plenty of pitfalls, hopefully this is the last one! i want to drive this beast!

Haha I learned REALLLY fast that things NEVER go the way you want them too. Just when you get **** figured out something else happens. I started my RB25 swap October 16th or so of 2005 by tearing out the KA, I was hoping to have the RB in and running by late march......It is now Sept. 1st 2006 and the car is finally about done...for now lol.

I started my paint project in March, hoping to have my car sprayed by April. I spent 3 months blocking it out, and I finally get it back from spraying filler primer next week. Probably won't be done until November. It always takes more time and money than you want/expect. It's worth it in the end though! We'll see how long my rb25 swap takes. GOOD LUCK!
