Hey guys and gals,

Well it's finally time!! I can now afford to put a few additions on my G.So I will be buying the 5/16 ISO Thermal spacer (I heard the 1/2 doesn't fit??), JWT/Popcharger and Ztube. Sooooo looking forward to it!! (Other then exhaust...any other suggestions??) So...anyone up for recommending a sponsor on here or somewhere else where I can order all of these at once. I'm in Canada so I'm sure the shipping is going to be a few $$$$. That's why I would like to order it all from 1 place. As always...thanks for your help!

Hey there G... I just finished the very same mods on my '04 coupe, and I am very happy. I went one step further however. I installed Gordon Gee's 10 wire Grounding Gear system. It is another in the realm of low cost mods, and seems to have yielded good results... snappier shifts, better throttle response. He is located in Canada, and is a member of the G35Driver and G35.ca forums. His system is one of the most complete, and definitely the cheapest. If you are interested, you can reach him at [email protected]

Good luck with your mods... I am sure that you will be pleased with the outcome!

Yeah Gordon's kit is probably the most complete grouding kit out there.

As for the rest of the mods you are looking for, check out Stillen. They are a good sponsor and have generally treated NICO members very well in the past. Everything G35 is another good source for parts, ask for Joe.

Thanks BigWill and Rydwhite. That Gordon Gee sounds like a great lil mod! Does Stillen provide the Motordyne spacer though? I think they only do the Intake/Ztube. I couldn't find it anywhere on their site. Do you know for sure? And whats the ballpark figure on that Grounding gear system? Thanks for all your help guys!

Why do we need a grounding kit? Is there an issue with the OEM gounding setup? I don't understand how that would give you better throttle response?? Anybody care to shed some light?

Wow! That was a wealth of info! Thanks for that link rydwhite...so, is Stillen's whole Cold Air Intake system (cone filter, heatshield) basically the same as the JWT??

Because I'm leaning towards just ordering from "Everything G35" and they only carry the Stillen not JWTI wanna get this order underway..reaaallly anxious!

Thanks All!!

They are awfully similar, but not exactly the same. I would assume that the results would be equivalent.

I got the 10 wire, and a carbon activated cabin filter, (since I was going to be working behind the glove box already), for about $180, shipped from Canada to California. Keep in mind that the systems are different for the 5AT and the 6MT, so your cost may differ slightly. Do some searching online for whichever intake you are interested in. JWT wants $179 for the Pop Charger, I got mine for $109 through Intense Motorsports. Stillen makes an excellent repro Z tube for $59... I got mine with no shipping, because I live about 20 minutes away from their factory. As for the Motordyne spacer, I found that at PartShippers.com for $260, with free shipping. Everything G35 wanted $290 plus shipping for the very same thing. Lots of what I have been reading and hearing says that a cat-back will not do that much more regarding hp, but it sure makes the car sound great. (Great sound = goes faster, right? lol)

I am sure that many would take issue with that opinion. I guess it depends on how much money you are willing to spend in the dollar/horsepower ratio game. Keep in mind that these companies are out there to SELL you stuff. They are going to make things sound as fantastic as they can. Read up on everything you can before you make your decision. This forum, as well as the G35Driver forum, have some excellent discussions on these very topics.

Do the searches.

Read the wisdom.

Then mod like crazy and drive it like you stole it! (while obeying all of your state and local traffic laws, of course!)

I hope that this is of some help to you!

Hey all....Thanks sooo much for your input! BigWill your input was great and I got a great laugh so Thanks for that!

Well...I finally ordered a 5/16 Spacer, Z-tube and and JWT Pop Charger!! Should actually be here today "Muaahahahaha"<<< evil laugh..lolI ordered from "Everything G35" spoke to Joe and he was extremely helpful. I also put a bid in on a Stillen Cat Back exhaust on E-bay. It was used for 2 mos and never saw rain. I maxed my bid out at $700.00. But, it never sold, guess the guy was looking to get more. I figured $700.00 was reasonable considering it was used...guess not. So I am back on the hunt for decent exhaust. I might go with a Borla cat back as it is comparable to the Stillen and about $400.00 cheaper when brand new.

Again Thanks to everyone!

See ya when I see ya

Glad to be of some assistance, Mr. Whizz. Everyone here was great at answering questions for me as well through my searches. These forums have a wealth of knowledge, and for the most part, as long as you have reasonably intelligent, lucid questions and comments, the people are great. I have been a member of forums with my last 3 vehicles, and they have been a priceless source of information, especially BEFORE I made my purchase. Each time I look to buy a new car, and decide on 3 or 4 makes/models, I go and peruse the forums for those cars to see just what recurring problems people are having with the cars, as well as the positive feedback, driving impressions, ease of modding, etc. Good luck with your project, and keep us 'posted' on your progress!

Really?? Just curious to know what your opinion or this fact is based on?? Is it personal experience or something you heard?
