One SICK Z!!! NEED HELP

ok to start off i recently changed my coolant and everything was fine there was no problems and then yesterday i took off my front bumper cuz im just gonna redo so fiberglass that was cracked so i have been driving around with no front bumper for the last day and a have... then i was fittling around with my boost controller tonight just turning it down and what not... then i noticed my engine temperature has went up a bit.( it has never gone past half) i pulled over for about 20 minutes to let it cool down it got just below half and so i started driving around again and the same thing the temperature went way up again so i just ignord it not thinking anything was gonna happen... so then i was driving and decided to pin it in second and noticed that my rpm's would go up like normal but i wasnt going anywhere. it also does this in third too.. first is somewhat normal but i still dont think all the power is there... does anyone know why this is??? its a 91 300zx tt and i have no clue why it would be doing this i do smell burning clutch once and a while but that may just be cuz im fooling around but i do not know what is happening if any one has any idea at all please post. thanks-Cam

you pretty much answered your own question there, IMO. i would check the easy stuff first before getting a new clutch: check the clutch fluid; and the clutch pedal adjustment to make sure the pedal is allowing the clutch to fully disengage when your foot if off of it. BTW for future reference if your problem is what i think it is, it's called a slipping clutch. good luck i can send you info about the pedal thing if needed just hit me up

ya hey thanks man i will check the clutch fluid in the morning but im sure its just a burnt out clutch i think im just gonna order a stage 2 anyways cuz i do plan on getting bigger turbos installed over winter because it will be parked and i will have time to work on it but ya thanks for the input
