Ok...I've had my 240sx a little over a year now and I'm just now getting around to putting some new work into it. Since I've had it I've been curious about a few things:

1.) Why does it idle so damn high2.) Should I bother putting the emission system back in?3.) And how to fix my lack of horse power

Yeah they may be noobish questions, but I need answers lol. I know the geniuses are out there so please help

I will attempt to help simplify things for you.

First of all do a comprehensive tune up. Plugs (NGK V Powers are plenty good enough), wires (NGK blues quite possibly the best bang for buck wire on the market comparable in performance and quality to products costing much more), cap, rotor, engine and coolant system flush. Time the engine and go through all sensor connectors and clean up any deposits or build up. Clean out the MAF sensor using MAF sensor cleaner, spray down the throttle body and run the Seafoam.

At this point things should begin to clear up for you. Either you will notice the engine needs more work than you think, or you will have successfully rejuvenated your machine. Once you get to this point then you can start focusing on power, or rather efficiency. Your first objective should be a solid foundation to work with.
