I just wanted to confirm the details of why there are three separate options for how one-piece driveshafts are produced. Having a hard time finding this info online. Here is what I am going off:

2+0 vs 2+2: Simply affects the length of the shaft
Auto vs Manual: Different bolt patterns, possible shaft length also
TT vs N/A: Style of Yoke that goes into the diff

Am I on the right track?

I have a 2+2 TT from Japan (not a TT swap) that came with an automatic transmission. I will be performing an MT swap (From a NA manual) in the next couple months and want the right size driveshaft. It currently has a one-piece driveshaft on it for the automatic/2+2/TT configuration.

1) Will this one fit or will the length be wrong? I imagine no.
2) If no to above, will I be fine ordering a driveshaft in the Manual/2+2/TT configuration?

Tim:
Autos and manuals don't tell you the bolt pattern,(NA/TT diff tells you the bolt pattern) it just the differnt number of splines at the trans output shaft.
Confused yet??:)

1) Your current dS will not fit. The trans output for auto and manuals are differnt (for manuals, TT and NA outputs are the same; however for Autos, TT and NA outputs are differnt)

2) yes, but you have a choice betwwen two u-joints at the Diff end. One is the OEM "CV" style, smoother joint but usually requires a core charge. Second is the standard u joint style, cheaper and no core charge. Both are 6 bolt for your TT diff.
