Because they're too expensive... however, they are still cool.

yeah, but only if you file a bunch of magnesium powder off it first, as far as i know, solid chunks of magnesium wont just poof like powdered/shaved magnesium (or thats what macguyver told me anyway )

This is correct. Magnesium WON'T burn when it's in a "chunk". We actually used to use magnesium fire starters when I was in the Boyscouts. It was a 1"x2"x1/8" hunk of magnesium with a stick of flint adhered to the back of it. We got stupid once and threw a whole one in a fire once to see what would happen. Nada, we were pretty dissapointed...

not true, take a acetalyne torch to a chunk, we had some old old fuel injector holders that are made from magnesium, and it went up pretty good, maybe your normal fire wont catch it. but hotter than the sun will, lol.

oh yea, on topic, those things are worthless. even if you buy them, you need to modify them, they are only for bragging rights.

id think the fins would act as a heat sink in some way to help a bit with heat dissipation

and it said they were meant for formula atlantic? (i still havnt looked at the auction for a few months) they do that so they can get the vents any way they want

i like it, i would have the vents coming off the back of both covers, so it would need less catch can hose and look cleaner, and maybe a fan mounted to blow air across the fins on the covers... but thats at a way later stage... and if i break downand buy them

you will prolly get way more blow by, those dont have any baffling in them like the stock ones do. also, those fins are so small and useless. mount a fan to them? go get an oil cooler, that would work soo much better. im sorry for bursting your bubble, but those are just eye candy, they dont serve any special purpose, just because they are used on a formula atlantic car doesnt mean they will give you 300 extra hp.
