my guess is that there will be no altima coupe in 2014.... they have already limited the 2013 coupe to 2.5 only, CVT only.... slowly decrease the demand over the years and then get rid of it... my guess is that they will come out with something that will compete in the small RWD coupe market... but midsize FWD coupes may be limited to honda and chrystler from the point forward....stevewaclo wrote:

Also Mazda is adding new competition in this segment with a Mazda 6 Coupe, so I don't know if that means get out now in fear that that market may become over saturated or stay in there and fight it out.XenonSE-R wrote:The 3.5 was never a bulk seller for the coupe or sedan to begin with, so this doesn't really surprise me.
I can tell you that Honda has revised the Accord and they're selling a coupe (with V6 available). Hyundai is entering the market with a Sonata coupe (which will compete in this segment). Nissan is paying close attention to Hyundai as they're the manufacturer to beat right now (Toyota and Honda have a legacy reputation which is the only reason they're still selling the Camry and Accord well).
Nissan was always coy about the Altima Coupe to begin with. No reason to panic just yet. I have seen manufacturers do this (limited trim availability for a model year) because they need to allocate production resources to a new model.
I don't see how he would know before any of us on staff knew. The only thing Nissan corporate has made official for 2014 is the GT-R. The rest will cycle through by this time next year.MikeSki wrote:My FOM was just at the dealer and I asked him about the coupe for 2014. He said it is discontinued, the market was shrinking for that car.
