One less unicorn in the Altima crew...

Guys, after several years of being a champion for the AC, I have relinquished my status as an AC driver.

My 2010 3.5L 6MT Altima Coupe that I sought after for so long was traded away for something more practical for daily driving.

But in the true spirit of my passive aggressive disdain for full on practicality, I sought after something Nissan doesn't offer in its lineup - a car with cargo space, decent fuel economy when desired, sporty handling, and POWER.

Enter, Emma -



She is a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. Not only does she provide me with good gas mileage, but power when I desire to enter the boost range starting at around 3000 RPMs. I can wrestle morning traffic on the interstate with a set of drums in the back and not be stuck with 120 hp in the left lane.

She stays in the garage with Zoey and they seem to be getting along. Zoey is high maintenance, so she stays out of the sun and gets beauty rest. Thankfully, she loves to party on the weekends and into the wee morning hours.

Anyway - I will miss my Altima. I loved having the exact configuration desired by so many (including myself, obviously), but now I have a more well rounded upstart fleet. ha. SHIFT_COUPE is holding down the unicorn status with a few others now.

I'm getting that itch myself to drive something new. Lets see if it develops into anything. For now I'm holding on to my unicorn haha

The white looks much better in person - it is a pearl just like in the AC. Only reason I didn't get a white AC is because I couldn't find one with a MT.

Wanted white in the MS3 for two reasons - I preferred the look and it was 100 degrees today and it stays a good bit cooler than my black AC. Can't wait to get tint next week.

Zoey is a 40th Anniversary Edition, so she only comes in one color - 40th Quartz. It is basically platinum graphite with purple pearl in it - a color for which pictures do no justice. You HAVE to see it in person. For any that will make it to GA in September for NICOfest, I will likely have her there.

Thanks man! My friend has the new Skyactiv sedan. Phenomenal gas mileage. They're rated at 40 but on his daily drive he nabs around 50-53 MPG in his 6MT. Insane for a non-hybrid 4 cyl.
