Im working on swapping my transmission and while i was taking out the automatic wouldnt you know i snapped one of the bolts. When i tried to drill it out the easy out broke so now i got a bolt stuck in the engine block. So my question is if i leave that bolt out in my 5 spd will i be ok? I have an na so no huge power. And if it makes any difference its a turbo transmission which i know is a little stronger. Thanks for any help!

It will be fine man. One bolt missing is not going to hurt anything.

He is right. Now if i worked at a dealership i would tell you you needed a new block because that wans't safe...But in reality its not really going to cause them to ever seperate. Just don't brake or leave out another. Was it a larger or smaller bolt?

Edit: wrong kind of break lol, but i left it cause its kinda funny.

lol ^

The funny thing is yall would be surprised to know that if you have this: https://specialtyz.com/shop/sz-vg30de-tt-oil-pan.html

You don't use the engine to trans bracket AT ALL for the RH side... :chuckle: (you don't use it because you can't haha)

When I bought my SZ pan and installed it I was like wtf this is not going to fit? So I did a google search and sure enough the bracket for the RH side is not used haha. :yesnod

Slide hammer is what I've always used for pilot bearings.

I got it out with a flathead and a hammer and needlenose pliers. It took a few minutes and a little cursing lol

For the pilot bearing you can rent a puller at autozone, i used the puller but my slide-hammer wouldn't fit so I just worked it out with the puller by hand, took about 20 min.

just sit there and work at it, like i said it took me 20 min of prying back and forth, i used a tire iron at some spots to pry on the puller.

Mine only had about 3k miles on it since the last clutch so that made it easier.
