i was wondering , on the exhaust header, you know there are 8 bolts that hold it on right?, ok well the 1st one on top, closest to the oil fill cap, is broke off inside the head. the rest of the bolts holding the header on are fine. my question is can i leave it like this? is that bad to skip one bolt, or worth it to spend 60-$100 on a heli-coil kit and extractors? i need to know guys

leaving 1 bolt out will still cause a exhaust leak. its made to have pressure applied over 8 bolts, not 7. and where are you buying your tools? 100 bucks for an ez-out and a heli-coil?? that's insane. i bought a set of 6 ez-outs for 20 bucks. start shopping at the flea market.

well i work at a supply store and the entire heli-coil kit is 60 bucks. then i need a ( tap )? to remove the old bolt. i know this will be a pain in the *** to do, cause it'll be hard to get a drill in such a tight spot. but it seems like it will have to be done , huh? whats a eazy out?

ez-out is just a specific brand of extractors. it was the first brand that came to mind. if you can pull the old bolt out and keep the threads intact, then just chase the threads with a bottom tap and hook up the new stud, that is if the threads are still ok.
