Well, I traded in my 2006 Altima this week for a fully loaded Mazda 6 GT (with premiere and tech packages).
Been looking for a while, and decided on the Mazda earlier this fall.
Don't like the new Camry or Accord, and hate anything with a CVT. Mazda came in with a pretty decent price, with discounts and free stuff (window tint, spoiler, colour matching side moulding, block heater.....hey, I'm in Canada)
Had to special order the car and waited a month until it was ready, but it was worth the wait.
Of course you'd know this would happen, but Mazda has just posted a press release about the new 2018 model, and it will have some tweaks and stuff compared to the 2017, but I doubt I would get the same deal on the new model.
So far I absolutely love it.
I still have the 2002 Pathfinder, but it is definitely showing it's age.
It needs some work, but I don't drive it much anymore, so I plan to slug it through one more winter before deciding what to do with it.
The Altima gave 11 years of great service, never breaking down on me.
It too was showing it's age, and it was time to move on. I have no complaints about the car.
Cheers everyone.

Congrats on your new ride. 11 problem free years is quite good. Hopefully your zoom-zoom will do as well. :dblthumb:

Yes, pics!
I'm digging most of everything Mazda is making at the moment.

I'll have to figure out a new hosting site first.
I gave up on photobucket when they started asking for money.
Any suggestions?

I like Flickr, although I've heard good things about Imgur as well.
Here's a writeup for Imgur. I'm sure you know how to post pics, but the more I share links like these, the more other people reading will jump off the photobucket ship.

I have been seeing headlines for a turbo 6 coming to sales floors. Not sure how much of that is true, or just a concept car. If true, sorry to burst your bubble! Great looking car though. Any pics to share?

You're not bursting my bubble. No worries.
Mazda unveiled the updated 2018 Mazda 6 at the LA car show this week.
Yes indeed, they are offering the 2.5 turbo that's used in the CX-9.
They have to offer something like this to compete with the Camry V6 and the Accord 2.0T.
Of course you can only get the turbo in the top of the line Signature trim car.
It will be expensive.
Lower trim levels still come with the NA 2.5.
Also, you cannot get the 6 speed manual transmission with the turbo.
Apparently the manual, as it stands today, is not robust enough to handle the extra torque and horsepower.
I doubt Mazda will spend the money to update the manual transmission to work with the turbo engine.
Too expensive to engineer, for very little return in sales.
They also tweaked the facia and interior. After seeing lots of pics of the changes, I'll stick with my 2017.

Sorry re: pics.
I haven't gotten around to uploading any pics to a new hosting site yet. Kinda busy right now.
Once I get a new account setup, I'll update with pics.
Cheers.
