With my interior bulb disaster over....I've been thinking about changing the license plate bulb to a blue led. Saw pics online of some cars with this and think it looks pretty sweet. First off, is this even legal? I know most of ya'll can't comment to the legality of it in my state(louisiana), but is it legal wherever ya'll are? Chances are if it's not legal most places, it won't be legal here. If it is legal, how does one change this bulb? Is it a pain in the butt? I know it's the same wedge type bulb as the 2 front map lights right?

Any thoughts on this mod?

I used to use red bulbs or replace the lenses with red ones in cars I had years and years ago. Makes the back match all red. PoPo's never bothered me about it.

Cool! Thanks for the replies! Infiniti, those leds you have are pretty much what I meant by blue(especially in your second picture)...I like just that hint of blue.

Thanks for the instructions too. By back door trim panel what do they mean? Is this something on the exterior of the back door I need to remove? or on the interior? The picture shows the exterior, but I'm trying to remember what is back there that can be removed. Guess I'll have to to go take a look.

Thanks! Ordering some bulbs from Vleds tonight.

I have similar light output to infiniti_lineup except I got 6k X5:http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/Corn ... 78377.html I ordered new ones since these don't give much output and I'm about to get rid of them. Mostly it is because I have led license plate from v-leds and it covers a little bit of light. That's why I ordered these: http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/Dome ... 7-1-2.html About installation I took interior plastic cover off the hatch and then I had an access to the wiring with socket of license light. Just twist it and pull it out then replace the light.
