During "siminozing" process at dealer, they created a 1" scratch on rear (Midnight Garnet) that can be felt with fingernail but not terribly deep. Have offered to fix but implied would require re-painting large area that I probably don't want to do and disturb factory paint. Sound right?

As alternative, they offered me $200 off StayNu package (fixes dents, scratches, et al). Was leaning towards doing and fixing 1" scratch someday when I get nicked in same area. However, noticed StayNu only applies to 3" scratches or larger. So, think I'd be stuck.

For those that understand exterior repair (I certainly don't). Would you recommend getting the scratch fixed now? Already driving me nuts looking at my couple day old car.

Sorry about the scratch. It boils down to what you are willing to accept. When you stated it was your car, I assume you already signed the papers.

Yup.....mine. The question is for a scratch like that, is it really necessary to have to do a full strip down and re-paint that could effect the factory work or should a trained person be able to simply fix the clearcoat scratch without alot of risk?
