It's that season. They're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
This was a weird one. The '18 Armada arrived with a complaint of flooding in the passenger footwells. Found about a half inch of water under the carpet.
No sunroof. Pulled the inboard kick panel, found the drain hose secure, clear when I blew air through it. Pulled the A-pillar trim, no water tracks. Pulled the cowl found the drains open, no meaningful debris. BUT, I also found this:
Hmm, that's the windshield washer hose. Methinks rodentia have been here. Replaced the hose, reassembled the cowl. Meantime, the A/C is running full blast but no water on the floor in the right spot. Instead the water is dripping off the step rail. I pull up the carpet and voila. What I find is this...
...and it's supposed to look like this:
I guess the little bugger (probably a mouse) wasn't able to chew through the intake door, so he cleverly chewed away the entire hose and grommet for the drain hose instead. Since he's probably still in the car, it will be getting a peppermint oil treatment as soon as I'm done drying it out.
Kudos, Mickey (or Minnie as the case may be, I don't want to be needlessly sexist). I've been in this business a very long time, and it's not every day I see something new. This one took some cake.
