ok so now i have the car starting, idling, reving, driving, but when i took her out tonight i got up to 3rd an pushed it some and it cut out an resulted in a neck jerking stop an go! so i turn around n head back down the street give it gas an whamm cuts again ! now im pretty sure i have the BOV on backwards an its leaking air when the turbo spooled up ! yeah im stupid ! but i just want to make sure this could cause that type of reaction ? also i maybe hitting boost cut they had a screw type controler on the motor i havnt messed with it but it never did this before so i doubt boost limiter. it was late and i was tired so i havent tried switching the BOV around, its a plastic bosch one, freebee till i get a real one ! i think thats the only prob, hopefully i get it worked out in the morning,

also i cant get the damned timming light to work all the time on my #1 coil pack ne one else have that trouble i followed the directions in the fsm but itll only work if the sparkplug cable is not touching the contact in the coil it has to be nearly out of the coil plug, could it be a weak signal causing this or bad coil ???

and my damn master cylinder is leaking fluid at the base near what looks like a relief channel?? is that commmon??ive tried to switch it but both leak and it wasnt leaking in the car i got it off of, is it just to relive excess pressure or is it fooked up ?!?!

damn i hate this car !!! but i love it at the same time

Man, sound like you have some wicked dramas with your ride. First of all, that BOV leak is not enough to cause the neck snapping thing. Your car sounds like it has a nasty miss or you're losing power at intervals. I would definitely fix the BOV drama as that's not going to help you figure your problem out either. I would say check the Crank Angle Sensor's connector or the connector to the power transistor (especially this one) because they do tend become a bit worn after that many years. Good Luck!!!!!!!!

sounds like fuel cut, make sure your hoses going to the wastegate etc are not broken or cut, if you have a boost gauge check the boost when you are getting the fuel cut, if it is over 14 then thats it, also clean your AFM with some carburetter cleaner and tighten/check all the intercooler piping.

sounds like you are getting a boost spike that is cuasing the car to hit fuel cut, next time you check it, let the car really warm up during the day and take it for a spin, and from about 2000rpm in 3rd floor it and see what the boost goes up to when it occurs.

and if the screw type boost controller is connected between the wastegate and the compressor of the turbo, you should mess with that and see what happens, righty tighty, lefty loosy.

There are different type Bosch Bov's(for different boost level) and maybe yours is already blown(the lowest is made for 0.6bar boost) and a friend of mine had stalling(bov was leaking) problems on his CA when he vented the Bosch to air(no probs when he recirculated it back). Maybe try a run without the bov and see if it's any better. Here are part numbers for the bov so u can check out the specs:#0280 142 110 =0.6bar (8.7PSI)#0280 142 103 =0.8bar (11.6PSI)#0280 142 108 =1.1bar (16PSI) Hope this helps to sort out at least the bov qüestion.

There is a loop of black wire at the back of the engine on coil pack harness, hook your inductive pickup to that.

Saying "I have a leaking master cylinder in my Nissan" is like saying "my old eighties Toyota is rusty". They all leak, overhaul it or get a new one.

Swing by the church on the way to Autozone and have the vicar throw some holy water on that car of yours. I have the license # 666 on my Silvia but it seems more appropriate for yours. Does the shifter knob rotate around and the car fill up with flies?

Mad, did you do that right??? it had me confused there for a minute !,

the bosch BOV came off a supra boosting at 12pounds i think i figure out that it may be the not recirculating it and recirulating it thing thats causing it ! I have a screw type booster controler it came on the car i havent the slightest clue as to which way to turn it to lower or raise boost, my boost gauge is still at the store so i cant check it that way yet, ill prob pick it up thurs an hook it all up an try it again, i cant wait for the snow to stop so i can take it out soon !

so now im gettting missfires and horrible idle think im getting weak spark now !! damn it anyone have the pope's number??

my battery light is now on and im charging it up so ill see if thats causing it if not back to the board again , anyone want to buy a highly tempermental Ca nah i cant sell her

No don't sell it, it's a friggin mission now! You will put that car in it's place and show it who is boss.

what does the boost controller look like, usually counterclockwise is reduce. Don't jack with it till you get a gauge though.

Don't wait till the snow is gone! parking lot snow drift is awesome!

I feel your pain. I have been chasing down gremlins on my latest Skyline for a month. It would fall flat on it's face like a plastic bag got stuck over the air filter. At some point I had every sensor disconnected for inspection. It was the fuel pump, luckily I had a GT-R one laying around so I threw that in with an adjustable regulator. I didn't want to buy a nice fuel pressure gauge so I scored an $8.00 one at the hardware store, Teed it in and hung out over the fender with the hood closed halfway on the hose. I got some interesting stares as I drove up an down the road setting the pressure with a gauge hanging out.:pface

Yours sounds like weak spark, with the battery light thing it could be a bad alternator keeping you from having a decent spark and when the boost hits it's bogging. Get that boost gauge ASAP.

not a clue the person i got it off of didnt really know too much about the motor or its acessories !! he got fed up with it when it quit running and so i took on "THE MISSION" ill be getting the boost gauge on before i runn it any more!

and im not selling this bastard.. its pissed me off too much now it is my mission to bit*h slap it when ever it acts up and it will obey me when i am fished training it, one day soon itll be a viscious killer, eating eveything around it raw and hunting for more.

i too was thinking bad alternator, or bad battery, im charging that as we speak, but i think the alterator is the culprit of the weak spark that or i have a short down there with the starter or the alternator.

and i have drift slicks good for the dry semi wet weather but not so good for 3in of snow besides i have to be able to try the car to drift the car!!! i had my other 240 out for a while but the auto transmission is near the death so it gets slugish after while

dude, i have exactly the same thing with my car. it hates me and will not rest till ive spent every last dollar i have on it, but i will make it obey me, oh yes...i really havnt had that many problems i guess, but the fact that im broke makes them oh so much worse. well, good luck to ya. im at school so i gotta leave, my teacher is getting annoyed.

woohoo its like 5:40am i just got off work, no time for sleep, its time to fight my creation tooth and nail again !! time to check and see if the battery charge helped the voltage light or if i have to go buy another alternator today !YAY!!! then its on to the turbo shop to get IC pipes welded up for hoses an stuff.. then to pick up the boost gauge and maybe a BOV and i have to order the damn fuel pump!! then nap time, and for the evening ill be going to the CASINO to make me some $$$$$$ to buy more crap for my ****** of a car ahh damn this car is killing me !!!

alright Mad, JDM, and every one else thats been in my corner for this battle i have an update an more fu_cking problemns!! first off ive decided to go buy a big ole dictionary i need some new words to scream at the car while im working the usuall 4 letter ones are gettin old. might as well expand my Vocabulary while i struggle, ok got the car running its cold like 20 deg or less here its running like crap, missing stalling not wanting to rev, once it warms up its little better but still misses some and backfires an studder/stalls when taking the Rpm up fast. turns out i had a IC leak fixed it ran some what better... got it warmed up.. rev it to spool the turbo, the BOV is lettn air out alot of air it feels like it wide open ! got the boost gauge today hook it up into a intake plenum vacum stem. get no reading when the bov is blowing uncontroled, cover the hose coming off BOv up and i get PSI read out !! so i route the bov into the intak before turbo after MAF rev it boost gauge works !!, i take it out for a spin, as im leaving up the drive way im glancing at the boost gauge, it was ghetto rigged runnin from intak to passener where my friend kept watch, well i started to spin in 2nd and the rpms went up the boost gauge hits 10pounds im like ohh sh*T. and lett up... he didnt see it ! we take off down the street and as i get up to 3g on rpms the boost is reaching 10 i think it hit 12-14psi once as i was runing 3rd out !! so i take this boost controler off that i have no clue how to work, i take it out still the boost was getting way to high i couldnt even get it over 3k rpm it was getting to high ! WTF is wrong ??? also my car is eating spark plugs fouling them out dry carbon fouled.. timming is too advanced i think? would this have an efect... i think thats all that happeng with it today ?!?! its like 5:00am i just got home from it

the sucker punch was that my other 240 that i drive all the way out to BFE to work on this one had the starter up and die on me today... so i get her started drive 15mins to auto zone slap down 180 an change for a shinny new one.. get it back do alot of cursing bleeding throwing of sh*T get it off.. some more of the above as the new one went on !! and it starts the car twice and died !!!!! son of a *****ING ********************** 6pm we started.. my granfather comes out we tear apart the old starter. fix a wire by the motor brushes that was being eaten by the armatture or what every the big epoxy thing that rotated is called, grease it up putt it back togther hit it with a batt charger it works.. so we slide the new 180$ paper weight out, and in with the old one with 167000 miles on it and it works !@! for now... the weather is going to be nastier then ever this weekend and my job is dependant on my car, im fn screwed..........

sorry for the lengthy post, but i have to get it out im stressign out big time, im so wanting to just blow this car up now !!!!!!

I really feel bad for you and your car! If you were closer I would go out my way just to come and help you, but it's just too cold where you live and I cannot justify to my woman why I'm going to Ohio to help someone with a car (She ain't buying it). So here's what I'm going to do, I'll let you borrow this and get your own armor piercing rounds and handles yo' bit-niz:D
