For my VH swap, can't decide on using the stock TT flywheel, or going with a 12 ouund one. I'll be using a OEM equilivant clutch, but is it possible to machine down a stock flywheel to shed a few pounds?

Thanks!

Ive never driven a VH/light flywheel but from what I understand the lighter flywheels make it a little harder to drive in a daily/city commute sort of thing..

Also, consider on the 4's and 6's, a flywheel and crank pulley are a much larger percentage of the total rotating mass... Not so much with a V8. The point is, a lighter crank pulley is known not to have any noticeable change, and I doubt that a flywheel would be that much different...

in other words, if you have a stock TT clutch and flywheel, I would just run that and worry about something new when it comes time to change it!

I ran a 10.5 lb flywheel on a KA24DE (inline 2.4l 4 cyl) and I couldn't see any drive-ability difference. I would Imagine if I put a light flywheel in my tow vehicle.. and needed to do some small, fine movements with a full load, I might have an issue, (or have to slip the clutch a lot more)

Don't you need a reasonably heavy fly wheel to help even out the odd firing order?

I have a 10.5 pound one from z1. The response I will say sounds crazy (have no tach installed yet) The drivability difference I find to be very minimal inside the s13 I love the feel of the Z1 clutch and flywheel. I would just say go with the lightweight if you have the money to do so I don't know if you can get a stock flywheel that light. Ill post a vid once I install a tach.

I got a Fidanza alloy 300zxTT fly wheel, modified to suit a 350zx clutch. Got the clutch from South Bend, they can sell the whole assembly, 300zx flywheel with 350zx clutch. 350zx is softer on the foot with more clamping pressure.
