First, The Brac is back. Kinda weird since I have not logged on in a year, then to find a much improved and relocated forum! Right.. on to my question.

Does anyone know of a place where I can find an on-line owners manual or even better a service manual?

The Reason: Since I really suck when it comes to ANYTHING with cars I want to have a service manual (or the page I need) next to me when I install my new sterio (Christmas present). I can pretty much figure it out but I don't want to run the risk of blowing out every fuse and circuit in my car because I hook'ed it up wrong or something that would fit my history of being "lucky".

Oh yeah, I did search this site for this question or something like this and found nothing that answer this question. I am only asking because if I can help it, I would rather find it on-line before I go out and have to buy a service manual :D

Well, an FSM (factory service manual) really won't help too much with wiring the stereo (it will have the wiring diagrams, but this will only complicate the matter). The simplest and most fool proof method is to buy an after-market wiring/installation harness.

You can go to any electronics store or car stereo shop and buy the harness. Just give them the make and model of your car. It should cost less than $15. Your new stereo should have color-coded wires that will match up directly to the wiring harness. Simply splice the wires together (either solder and tape or use crimp connectors), and clip the stereo harness into the factory harness. You will also need an antenna adaptor (about $10).

The head may be a little more of a chore to mount. It should have pre-drilled, threaded holes that match the mounting bracket in your car..... but this is not always the case. If not, they usually provide a mounting 'sleeve' that is universl.
