I know that these are used as a average but has anyone had issues with the readings? The MPG seems to be working okay but the MPH which I am assuming is the "average" mile per hours driven for the current tank of gas does not seem to be very accurate. I could fill up and reset the display to "0" and be driving mainly freeway speeds of 60-65 mph but the display only register 28-29 MPH. Just wondering if it is worth bring back to dealer to have them check the computer or sensor used to monitor this. Seems if I have to look at it, it should be close to accurate...Anyone get close to what they think is their average MPH after resetting the display?

I believe you need to reset more than just the trip. I hope that's not what you did haha

I never really trusted the "on Board" system.. I noticed that as well so I used this little device called the scan gauge which I used on my previous ride. It monitors your MPH and MPG in real time (refreshes every 1/100ths of a second). It helped my driving habits immensely It's not that much and I loved it..that is until I bought the BD GT tuner. Which pretty much does the same thing and has a "driving coach" software but the BD can upload a "tune" to the car there by gaining more performance.

I still have the scan gauge II sitting around so if you're interested, email me.

Thanks Dangeris for your reply...I know that these on-board systems are not to be trusted to a certain degree but was just wondering how the MPH is monitored or how often it refreshes...because if I am driving 65 MPH from a reset of the system, then I should average 65 MPH until I start going slower or faster, then the system should recalulate to the average between those speeds...what am I missing?I bet the dealer won't know either...lol

see, not only is my mph reading off, but my mpg reading hasn't changed in about 1000 miles. ive been driving mostly in the city, flooring it at every light, and it tells me i get 27 mpg?! i've even calculated it myself to see how i've been doing the last 3 fillups. i get more like 21 mpg. it's madd retarded.

It doesnt refresh on its own... its a rolling avg since the last time you reset it... Hold the button to reset it
