How can you contend with something like this? He's got warp engines!

I want a camo painted brat with day glow orange flappy hunting hat.

Anyone know where to get pants that snap up the sides? Definitely gonna need some rip off pants for when its time to change into fire suit.

The brat was one of the coolest cars ever made. What a shame that with today's intrusive nanny safety laws you can't sell a car with two bucket seats in the bed facing backwards with no belts and just handgrips to hold on to so you don't fall out into the street.

Yeah, it was the first thing I though of when I was trying to come up with awesome/random/"trashy" vehicles.

I guess if we go it will likely be going with what ever funny cheap car we can find at the time though, the budget doesn't leave a ton of room to look for a particular vehichle.

We were looking at a later thunderbird, even called on it... but its been a little bit now and one of the team owners is still debating on if its worth the money, so by the time he is in it will likely be gone.

If I remember right the spare tire was bolted to the engine too.

I'd believe it. They were into that back then for some reason. The Loyal was like that too. Seemed... kinda dumb.

With the website you have, and the locals in your area the thought that you couldn't pull together a LeMons team is ridiculous.

You have how many gear heads in your area and they can't manage to put together a race car on someone else's dime?

There's no "couldn't" or "can't".

It's a time issue. I sleep 4-6 hours per night as it is, I need another project like I need ebola. :)

I'd absolutely entertain the idea of supporting the right team with the right personnel.

Not for lemons, but the right team with the right crew... and there are a few nico members, lol (R624sx, duffman, me)

Hell, can't blame me for the shameless plug.... I need money!

I used to do the 500-500 rally (Drive 500 miles in a $500 car) with the local british car enthusiasts a couple years back. Our shop's crowning achievement? A 1970's Monaco R/V powered by a flowmastered 451.

Are R/Vs in the Lemon's rulebook?

I don't think they allow vehicles with such a high center of gravity.

One of my original suggestions was an 80's chevy van.

I had met some guys at VIR who brought their "Lemons" car for testing during an Audi event. It was a ratty red 1st gen MR2 with all its glass removed. Though It failed as badly as Nala on dance night. ;) it looked like a fun project..

Dunno, that old Lincoln in the pics looks like it's got a higher roll center than a van... :)

I have a buddy who has raced Lemons around the Chi-town area for the past 3 years. They are the Chicago Amish Racing Team, and yes, they do wear beards and hats while they race their 325e which has been highlighted with woodgrain shelfpaper.

I am working on it.

Little rough since I should be in NH from like the 1st to the 5th of may racing our hybrid car, but the other race team is hoping to be the first team to bring a 280z to LeMons victory in the May 14th-15th race in Reno.

Gotta see how it works out with school and all, but the race itself is sat-sun... so other then the 12 hour drive home to get to school the next day it seems like it should be do-able schedule wise.

Still gotta see how everything works out, but I have a team pretty serious about making it in something :gapteeth:
