any advice here im pulling my hair out with this thing
Sounds possible. If you miss that last click the pump might not be fully engaged. In either case it sounds like you have to pull that back out (I am so sorry I know how much that sucks, been there done that)texml69 wrote:nope its right at full and was told it was out of a running car maybe the torque convter came unlocked when i put it in??
would that cause this problem?

TPS check might help.![]()
What happens when you shift from park,
Is there the feeling of torque engaging?
If not your hold pressure might be low....
Any Puddles?
deathofisrael wrote:Dont know about infiniti transmission's , but not having the torque converter locked in right can blow your front pump in other transmission's..Ive done it .not pleasant .I did it to one i rebuilt. ..I was always taught , never run a transmission used without a rebuild first .even if running when pulled . You take big chances when going on the cheap sometimes ..That's my take.
I could personaly care less about politics, but NICO does have rules and your signature could get you in trouble again. You might think about inserting something car related and avoid political statements in your sig and posts before a mod hits the ban button again. Welcome back.deathofisrael wrote:Yep , transmission's are way expensive ..Drag for sure .
on the other hand;
Well , here i am .. I was banned litterally..i could only get back in because nico switched up and left me a hole .lol. Look at my last post and login under diamondj30 , then wonder why.........
At the point when the car starts and lurches (it was somewhere before it all went to hell) it is in gear...and it doesn't know it. Honestly IDK where/what it could be but start with the basics but more likely than not it something directly related to the gear position. I have seen one guy once a while back put a trans in and misaligned the actual selector on the case and it wasn't right and he thought it was blown. Did you by chance adjust or have a problem with the linkage did you? I have actually put my car down on the shifter linkagetexml69 wrote:well im going to go see what i can do on this friday how do i test all the electrical????? im thinkin its in the linkage cause i cant get it to read codes and the alarm wont turn on it? i think it is not getting fully into park like its in reverse and park at the same time?? is that possible ?

while it was hanging down and made a huge mess.
Crap happens go back to the beginning and check everything that would have control of gear position. Hopefully it is something simple like misadjusted linkage but it doesn't sound too electrical.
Will- gotcha, I was uninformed.
yeah it has a 30 day warranty on it so im coverd there its just a matter of pulling it again hopefully third times a charm ill keep you updatedSteveTheTech wrote:Man I hate to hear that your trans is shot.
This type of repair and diagnosis is a lost artform. Is there a warranty on your trans? If not are you planning on getting it rebuilt? Do you still have two?
I have seen this type of thing all to commonly with recycled parts engines and transmissions are the worst things to gamble on. Although they are cheaper in the long run at some point you start to question just how much your time is worth.
First beers on me today man, I know just how bad that sucks
