My brother is schizophrenic, and hes been having a hard time, but in the last few months, things have been looking up.

He owes my mother $160 of overdraft charges, so was going to work it off because he has no job. He could not paint the side of the house because it was raining, so he was supposed to take our old toyota about 4 miles to my grandmothers old house(our rental) to do some yardwork to get it ready to show. Well, when my moms fiance went over there to check on him, he wasnt there. My mother then got a telephone call from my brothers old roommate(the address on his drivers liscense) saying that the state patrol was at his door, said Jonah had been involved in an accident, and that they w9ouldnt give him any other information, but they told my mother to stay at work, and they'd be there as soon as they could. We got a telephone call from her, and rushed over to my mothers work. By then we knew something was seriously wrong. We arrived as the state patrol did, and followed them into the room where my mother was. My brother jumped off the Olympia Boulevard Bridge onto i-5. He did a swan dive and died instantly. It was a height of 80 feet, and he landed on his chin. He was not hit by any cars. I'm in disbelief... I cant believe that my brother is gone. I'll never see him again... I've cried alot, and I've laughed alot, and none of it seems real to me.

not at the fact he died, my mother, her girlfriend, and my mothers friend and I all drank my brothers favorite kind of wine, and the only way to ease the tension was to laugh at silly things.

jesus that's awful, I'm so sorry. did you have any idea he was wanting to do this, or did it just come out of the blue? man that's so horrible, I cant even imagine having to deal with anything like that happening to my family. stay strong, we're here for ya if you need anything at all.

he never indicated that he was going to do it. he told my mother a long time ago that someday he was going to jump off that bridge, but he was crazy, and he'd joke about that stuff often, so nobody ever took him seriously. He had been doing very good for hte last few days, and then this happened otu of the blue.

I think I'm the first to say it, but I'd like to applaud your strength in a time of such agony. To be able to laugh in the face of such trying times takes more strength than you might think it does. I've seen peole get dumped by a girlfreind and take it harder than you have taken your loss. My absolute DEEPEST condolences go to you, your family, and all your close freinds affected by this tragedy.

We're all behind you on this. You've got a huge community to support you; from afar - people on the east coast, and people close - I know tons of guys that live in teh Northwest, hell, I live in North Bend, WA! Call on any of us and I'm sure we'll answer.

Nick.

I'm the kinda person that cant say anything nice without sounding cheesy. But after reading that there is no way to NOT post something.. I dont really know what to say.. I am really sorry that you have to go through something like this, and while a stranger on the internet isnt the first place you'd likely turn, feel free to message or email me if you want to talk.

Oh man, I am so sorry. I lost my father to suicide when I was 15. I think that surreal feeling comes from having nothing to prepare you for such a shock. I wish I had some profound advice, but you have to deal with your loss however you see best to deal with it.

Laurel i am so sorry to here about this it saddens my heart I am going to keep you, your family, and your friends in my prayers....

I have a feeling your brother was doing real well because he had finally come to the conclusion that he was going to do what he did. I have heard that most people who have commited suicied become very mild a calm like nothing is wrong at all

I lost a good friend in a motorcycle accident last month. I'm not trying to compare the two, I just want you to know I sympathize and my prayers are with you and your family.

wow laurel, i dont really know you very well, but i honestly have to tell you i am very amazed by how strong of a person you are. After my best friend died, i was not able to speak for close to 3 days. i didnt eat, sleep, or even leave my bedroom. I know a death of a close loved one, especially a sibling, is extremely difficult. Just keep your head up and remember the good times.
