well i found out why my motor wont fire....

i had 180 last time i tested the compression

i have 60 now....

thanks for coming out!

looks like im not driving my car for another month.

time to find a rebuild kit, that or find a KA and swap it back in

the only think i could think of is that ive got the timing wrong, and its causing the valves to overlap when im cranking giving a bad compression reading

thats what im PRAYING for... tomorrow when its light im gunna toss some oil down there and see what happens

well, a giant drop in compression in a motor that hasnt yet run... does seem a tad strange? no?

yea i agree, thats why im not sitting here contemplating suicide, or worse...an SR

hell i just want it running, i timed it tonite, and the thing is there is NO marks on the outside of my timing cover

and i cant for the life of me get it to sit on 39 cogs

im with liquid_neon on that one, the chances of compression dropping without running is slim to none....also are you sure your compression tester isnt a piece of crap? I just wanna know how you got 180 when factory service manual spec is 170 something.

it was somewhere around there, i did the test like a month ago, i cant recall the exact number, it was up there tho

im gunna test for 2 things tomorrow

- headgasket- timing being out

other then that i have no idea

wow, that sucks if your compression really is that bad.. lets just hope it is the timing

Sheesh,you're probably flooed to hell and back with gas..

Change the oilRemove the spark plugs overnight1tb spoon of oil in each cylinderretest..
