For a brand new V...

I am officially nuts!

Here's a pic of my new baby... hehehehehe I got to drive mine home tonight and I pick up the new one tomorrow.

And (here's the best part) the dealership is moving my Versa Badge this time.

I've gotta call my sign company about new decals...

...

Why?

MY AFTERMARKET SUNROOF DESTROYED MY HEADLINER!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!The best answer I got was that most people don't notice. I can't wait to show off pictures of my new headliner!!

The new baby is the same color (as you can see) and it has the audio package, the Sirius, the Sunroof (which has one-touch features!!!), and all the other stuff my V had!!

(I can't wait to take a pic of the freakin sub so that I can prove a certain individual from another forum wrong about where the sub is located... jerk thinks it's in the dash...)

It set me back $5600... :o/ but I would never have been happy with the headliner and I wouldn't have been able to fix it... But hey, I've got one-touch now... and they did do wonderful things for me. (Like, they only charged me $75 for the crack in the bumper, it'll cost them $150 to fix it so they split it with me.)

Feel free to let me know how dumb you think I am ;oD

Is this one going to also be known as the Sopwith Camel Flying Ace? I was going to call mine a flying, boxy, foreign econobox-ace, but it doesn't have much ring to it...

Okay... that gets a smiley

I'm done now ;oD (but on the upside, the original camel was a foreign econobox as well ;oD)

My current Camel has ~7800 milesmy new one had 5 when I drove it out of the showroom! eep!

Yeah... I'm still doing the whole Camel thing ... I just didn't see the point of spending hundreds of $ to get a new headliner when it was only going to be lumpy and ill fit...

So... yeah, spent that extra $5,000 WWAYY before I was ready to... and then I'll still need to pay for upgrades and customizations... sheesh... But if you'd seen my headliner versus this headliner... maybe you'd understand... maybe... plus my driver's side door wasn't seated properly and the panels didn't line up and the dealer didn't think they could fix it... this one is perfectly lined up and I was soooo happy when I was driving away...

The factory subwoofer upgrade is most definitely in the trunk, on the left-hand side.

So... why is the company that screwed up your headliner not paying for some of this, if it's their fault?

This is probably a little too late, but I thought I'd mention that the two words "aftermarket" and "sunroof" should never be uttered in the same breath. Sure, about 1 in 1000 are just fine, but by-and-large, they're trouble.

On another note, though, hope you're really happy with your new "real" sunroof (and the sub adds some nice ummmpf to the stereo system).

Question, though. So your new Versa has 7800 miles? Or was that the one you traded in? Because that quote \/ is confusing...

I used to install auto-glass.

After market sunroofs never work. The seal never lasts and then their car either has a leak or rusts out the roof and they never know it until it is too late.

Even the dealer sunroofs have problems if the car lasts long enough. They don't make em like they used to. When you could use the same rubber gasket around the windshield for decades.

My versa has 27,000 miles, it had 98 when I left the dealer late last July. 27,000 enjoyable miles with my sound system and satellite radio.

Rockhound, Demonspawn, Where were you guys when the salesman was telling me the aftermarket was way better? ;oD

BTW Demonspawn, pretty pretty! Do you live in Frankfort? I live in Berea.

Live and learn...

EV, the reason that they're not helping to pay anything is because that's the work that normally gets done (I took pics of all the gaps and lumps to post, but they're on the real camera so I haven't uploaded them yet). Basically "most people don't notice" was their defense mechanism. I can understand that they can't do a straight trade, and I'm accepting of that. $5600 sounds terrifying, but it's livable.

The moral of the story? NOW I KNOW!!

I've already got my new decals lined up and should be getting those next week sometime. (yippee). Till then, here's this:
