Now one of my rims are scratched up on the edges and from the driving feel i think theres an alignment problem

Its not too noticable is it possible to fix with just an alignment fix? or will i ahve to replace the shaft?

The hit wasnt too fast, but it sounded pretty loud from the inside

damn black ice plus careless ness

anyone had this happen to there cars and gotten it fixed? and how much and how bad was the damage?

My guess you would have to get her inspected to confirm damage. Sorry to hear about your misfortune dude, be strong for your Altima..........I know your pain

Just take it to an alignment shop and see if they can get it back to specs. If not, you may have damaged something. But, I'd check the alignment first.

Bummer......I'd say it could be several hundred $$$ to fix like new again. You might need a new Wheel cause you may have "Bent" it. If so then it will always be a problem to keep tires on that one. That happened to my wife's Hyundia Elantra with her driving. We needed alignment and a new rim, didn't damage anything else. But her rim was a really cheep one 125.00 Yours are probably much more. If you bent any steering components etc. it won't be a cheep slide. The first day we had snow here I took her out and did the stomping on the brakes to see how to control it so I'd know what to expect. On snow it does great but unfortunatly, nothing can help you on black ice. We need a button on the dash that when pressed releases dry sand onto the pavement infront of the front tires. I'd buy that option......

i am sure my rim isnt bent...since i looked at teh damage on the rim to be very minor. Just the edge of the rim has alot of scratches. Its not noticable so i dont worry about the rims, but my concern is the alignment, if its adjustable without replacing the control arm or something then it shouldnt cost too mcuh

i was only goin 20 km/h and it wouldnt let me turn or stop, and i wasnt even locking the brakes! ive been driving on snow for a while now and ive never hit something like this slippery i guess its my bad luck, terrible luck lately

It sounds like it might be the alignment that is off a bit. Get it realigned at a shop and go from there.

I hope and beg that its just a minor alignment problem that can be easily adjusted...right now im having horrible luck and especially financially

if its just fixing the alignment it cost around 100 give or take a lil, but if i have to replace parts i will be screwed

WISH ME LUCK

bummer.

i like Vet Boots's idea. lol.i'd have a few spiky poles shoot out the bottom of the car and grind into the pavement, at the touch of a button. it'd mess up the pavement, sure, but it'd be a lifesaver.

Yea take it to an alignment place and see if they can align it. If not it could be something as serious as a control arm. Happened to me 2 months ago with my bmw. Slid into a curb and bent the lower control arm. $700 fix at BMW.
